First Visit

Brief Paperwork

Upon entering the office, we have some brief paperwork for you to fill out. The paperwork provides us with general information about yourself and your condition. You can down load these forms from the "Online Forms" page. Please bring any insurance cards or claims information with you so we can make sure the correct paperwork is completed and filed on your behalf. If you were injured on the job we have the necessary forms to file most claims. If your employer is self insured, you will need to begin the paperwork with them and bring it to our office.

Consultation and History

Once the paperwork has been completed, Dr. Fromm will talk with you and ask some specific questions about your symptoms. When did they start, what caused it? What other doctors have you seen, what other treatment have you had? What makes it better, what makes it worse? How has it affected your daily activities, work or recreation? These issues help us understand the nature of your injury or condition and direct the type of examination we should do.

Examination & X-rays

Dr. Fromm will do a thorough examination. A number of chiropractic, orthopedic or neurologic tests will be performed to determine which tissues are affected and to what extent. Are symptoms coming from bones, joints, muscles, ligaments, irritated or pinched nerves or a combination of those? If necessary, Dr. Fromm may take x-rays for additional information in determining your condition.

Same Day Treatment

Once finished with the examination and all appropriate studies, patients in acute pain will be provided with their first treatment during this same visit. This may include spinal adjustments and/or soft tissue therapies.

Home Instructions

Prior to leaving, patients will be given instructions on certain activities or procedures to be conducted at home. This may include ice or heat application instructions, avoidance of certain activities or positions, as well as home exercises and/or stretches.

Schedule Your Next Appointment

You will be given a convenient appointment time for your follow-up visit. Generally speaking, patients are seen within 1-2 days. Your second visit will allow more time to review x-rays if they were taken and discuss treatment options.
